September 22—Terr, schooner, 17 tons, Pekama, from Wairoa, with 4,600 palings, 220 bushels maize, order.—Y .Taniseh, agent September 22 — Zephyr, schooner, 60 tons, Lowry, from Otago, in ballast,—Master, agent. Them: have been three arrivals during the week —two from Auckland, and one from Otago. The Zillah, after a six days’ passage from Auckland, came in on Thursday last. Saw 11.M.5. Harrier steam out, it was supposed for Taranaki, as she was leaving. The- Vicloria ;, from the same port, reached here on Saturday last, after a run of four days ; and on Monday the Zephyr came in from the Otago, having called at Port Cooper, and stayed there six days. She left Otago on the Gth, at which period hundreds were coming hack from the ncwly-discovcred Hartley diggings from want of provisions, although it was thought that the the diggings were swamped by the numbers who had rushed there. Some of those who left hero in the Queen preferred staying at Canterbury, rather than go further in face of such accounts. The schooner Effort, which was lying in a dangerous position in the Turiroa creek at the Wai-
roa, lias been got oif, having damaged liui- bowsprit only, which is being repaired! She is expected hero to-morrow.
