April 20— Esther, brigantine, GO tons, Campbell, for Wellington, in ballast. The Spray, from Sydney, arrived in the roadstead on tlie evening of (lie 21st, having been in sight for llio most part of the day. She has bad a fair run from Sydney, having left Port Jackson on the 9th inst. The North Cape was passed on the 15th, whence she had light breezes to port. A steamer, supposed to be H.M. Harrier, was seen on Saturday at 4- p.m., and again on Sunday olf Portland Island. The Lapwing has made an excellent run from Auckland, leaving on Tuesday, the 15th, at noon. She had light southerly winds to the East Cape, which was rounded on Friday: sho was then becalmed until Saturday at noon, when a North-east-er brought her into the roads!cad at 4 a.in., on Sunday last. A brigantine was sighted on Saturday off Poverty Bay, beating to the north.ward. The Lapwing is quite a new vessel, built with iho latest improvements, by Mr. Beddocs, of the North Shore, Auckland (who was also flic builder of the Pole Slur). Her cabin accommodation is particularly good, being large, with six good berths, and well adapted for passengers. The following arc the Lapwing's dimensions : Ft. in. There was no occurrence of any note. Ran down her longitude in the parallel of 19 dog. South, and was nineteen days from iho meridian of Cape Otway, passing to the Southward of Tasmania. This old established and favourite Auckland trader comes into port in her wonted trim and creditable condition, the passengers as usual, being highly gratified with the kindly courtesy of their captain, to whom they have presented a befitting testimonial of esteem. The Cashmere has brought 78 passengers and a variety of singing and other birds ; many unfortunately, died on the passage.
