The Natives. — A pretty little quarrel is beginning up the river between Topine alias Mamuku, head chief, and a chief of lower grade, who wishes to dispose of some land belonging to himself, but is prohibited from doing so by Mamuku as representative of the tribe. The owner of the land is determined to carry his point, though force should bo necessary, and a fight is at present expected. This case, it will be observed, bears a strong resemblance to that at Waitara, and it will be interesting to watch its progres.
