CORRESPONDENCE.
To the Editor of the Hawke's Bay Times.
Sir, —Your contemporary lias recently informed us that Mr. Bousfield “ adds the profits of a farm to his income of .£360 from the Provincial Government.” We are grateful for the information, and accept it as the first instalment of the whole list. We want to know about all the Ahuriri officials—how much each of them receive from the Government (General or Provincial), and what they do for their salaries, and what profits they add thereto ? Some of them are perhaps graziers as well as officials—some may even be illegal occupiers of native lands to the prejudice of the Government which pays them, and the injnry of the public they ought to benefit. In one point your cotemporary seems to blame ; why not begin at the top of the tree, and extend downwards to the subs ? It does seem hardly fair to commence where he has, but it would be still worse to finish there, so we hope he will continue the list, as this information would be most acceptable to a good many of us, ami to none more than Yours, &c., Paul Pry.
