TENDERS will be received at this Office up to noon on SATURDAY, the 7th day of December next, from persons desirous of renting the Waipureku Ferry for the year 1862. The Ferry Punt will be kept in constant repair by the Provincial Government. The Ferryman will be required to be in attendance from sunrise throughout the year to 9 o’clock p.m. in summer and 7 o’clock p.m. in winter, and will be authorised to collect tolls according to the undermentioned scale, viz. : s. d. Bullock Drays, each way 2 6 2or 3 Horse ditto 1 6 1 Horse dray or cart 1 0 Man and Horse 0 6 Foot passenger 0 3 Cattle, per head 0 1£ Sheep ditto 0 Government Officers on Public Service, Mail Carriers, Police, Survey & Road Laborers Free. Parties Tendering must state the rent they arc willing to pay for the Ferry House and Punt, and name two persons as sureties who will be prepared to enter into a joint bond for £2OO for the due performance of the duties required, and for the delivery of the Ferry House and Punt at the end of the term. Napier, Nov. 15,1861. 1 PARTIES tendering for any of the above-men-tioned articles must specify in their tenders the names of their sureties, who will be bound conjointly in a bond for a regular supply of the articles or articles they may engage to furnish. It shall be distinctly understood that in all cases the articles are to be of the best description ; and should any bad or faulty articles be furnished by the contractor, no payment will be made for the same, and they will have to take them back at their own expense, and supply a good article in their place; failing which, the Provincial Government may order them to be procured at the expense of the contractor wherever they can be obtained. All Contracts whatsoever, entered into by the Provincial Government, are terminable by a three months’ notice in writing on each side. G. T. FANNIN, Superintendent’s Clerk.
