NAPIER lllyi MILITIA. rjpiUE ATTENTION OE ALL MEN resident J— within the Town of Napier, liable to serve in the Militia of the District, is hereby called to the following notice : Colonial Secretary’s Office, Auckland, 11th Doc., 1860. The following clause of the Militia Act Amendment Act, 1860, is hereby published for general information ; and the Commanding Officers of Battalions and Companies are enjoined to give every possible publicity to the same within their respective districts. 7. Sections 11, 12, 13, and I t of the said Militia Act are hereby repealed, and in lieu thereof be it enacted that the Senior Officer of every Battalion or Company, or any other commissioned officer appointed by him, shall enrol all the men liable to serve therein, and any man who shall not within three months after his becoming liable to servo, give in his name, age, and place of residence to such officer in order to bo enrolled, shall forfeit any sum not exceeding £'s. SEALED TENDERS will be received at this Office up to I o'clock ]i.m. on Friday, the 29 th November, 1861, for the weekly Conveyance of Mails as far as Porangahau, delivering and taking up Mails at Clive, To Ante, Waipawa, Waipukurau, and Ohinewha, including the Branch Service from Te Ante to Patangata. Also for the Weekly Services from Napier to Puketapu, Napier to Maraekakaho ; or Napier via Puketapu to Maraekakaho; and Clive to Ponrereere Tenders will also be received up to Saturday, the *lth December, 1861, at noon, for the fortnightly conveyance of Mails from Napier to Poverty Bay taking up and delivering Mails at Petane, Mohaka, Wairoa, and Mahia. The services in all cases to include the taking up and delivering Mails at any other offices on the respective lines which may be hereafter established.
