FRENCH MERINO RAMS. Mr. B. D. DANVERS Willi sell by Public Auction, at the station of Russell, Esq., Woburn, Waipukurau, on Wednesday, 9th October, 1861, — THE entire lot of his half-bred Hogs, consisting of—--200 RAMS Out of carefully selected Ewes from hia own flock, by his imported French Merino Rams From the flock of the French Fakeirell—Jetm Baptiste Francois Gilbert—the founder of the improved Merino breed in France. The Gilbert Merino is distinguished by its strong built vigorous body ; its head and neck are thick, its collar having many folds; its legs are full clothed to the hoof; its fleece is long, thick, uniformly curled, throughout good, middling fine and uniform. In short, the Gilbert sheep constitutes one of the finest results of rational breeding of the present time, both as regards the beautiful structure of its body and its surprising size, for there are some rams measure upwards of five feet from the muzzle to the root of the tail. Terms : —Under £3O, cash ; above that amount, approved endorsed bill at 3 monthsA LUNCHEON PROVIDED.
