Oxje attention has been called to the production of an anonymous writer in the Herald of last Saturday, in which we are taken to task for our remarks in our last issue respecting Mr. T, H, Fitzgerald’s letter which we have published—We have already expressed our anxiety to afford that gentleman every opportunity to defend himself. Our columns are still open to him ; and any remarks our contemporary may make on the subject shall receive that attention they may deserve from us; but we treat this anonymous scribbler with merited contempt. We perceive that some of our correspondents have given him the castigation he so well deserves, and we leave him in their hands.
