BUSINESS CRITICISED

Attempting to Liquidate New Deal MR. ROOSEVELT'S C0NV1CTI0N (Received 31, 9.30 a.m.) PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 29. What political observers consider to be an expression of President Roosevelt's conviction that the inimical attitude of business to his Administration may precipitate a serious collapse is spen in an address by the Assistant-Attorney-General, Mr Jackson, in which he stated that certain groups of big business were now attempting to liquidate the New Deal and throw off all governmental interference with their incorporated initiative ahd aristocratic anarchy. "They only just criticise what can be made from the ecpnomic operations of the New Deal. Is that it? They set out breakfast for the canary and let the cat steal it! It is insufficiently guarded for recovery from the raids of the monopolist." The speech is given added point because it is one of severa'l of a similar tono recently made by Mr Jackson.
