FIGHT AT HOCKEY MATCH
Private Feuds Come To a Head LONDON, Dec. 28. The worst scenes in English ice hockey during the current season were witnessed \vhen a mass fight, in which every player except the goalkeepdi participated, broke out shortly before the end of the match at Harringay between Harringay Greyhounds and Earlscourt Rangers. The trouble spread when a player in each team dropped his stick, tore off his gloves and tackled each other with bare fists. The rink was instantly a surging mass of fighters. The Earlscourt coach and the resting piayers tried to separate them. Those who started the fight were penalised 10 minutes, which is an English record. The whole match was troublesome owing to private feuds coming to a head. The referee suspended play until before half-time with an order to separate the bellicose players. The penalty box was full of players for the last 10 minutes, Earlscourt having only two on the rink. Ihe Greyhounds won by four goals to two.
