Vongman Island SHelled and Occupied MACAO AWARENED

Macao was awakened at dawn by re. ports of heavy artillery 10 miles southwest of the city, from Wongnan Island, whieh the Japanese, after shelling, oc* cupied. Reports from the Portuguese, who possess the rights of Wongnan Island, have so far not been received, ■ r A cable from Canton yesterday stated that the report that twenty vessels are approaching Macao is not confirmed. lt is believed they may be merely transports relieving Japanese vegselg already in South China.
