Conclusion of Taranaki Meeting BIG TOTE INCREASE

NEW PLYMOUTH, Last Night. The Taranaki Jockey Club's summer meeting concluded in hot and fine weather. The totalisator handled £18,949 10s, representing an increase of £6168 on the second day last year. The total for the meeting was £43,666, representing an increase of £10,643 10s. Senacre fell at the finish of tha Warea Hack Stakes and the rider, N. R. McKenzie, received a broken collarbone. An inquiry was held and the stewards found that L. H. Clifford, the rider of the winner, Flashing Spear, finished carelessly and contributed to the mishap. Clifford was suspended for a fortnight.
