Intoxication Charge A plea that his livelihood was dependent on his having a driving licence, was suceessfully made by a young man, John Edward Booth, aged 20, a butcher, when he appeared charged with being intoxicated in charge of a motor-car, before Messrs F. J. Hull and D. F. McLeod, J.P. 's in the Hastings Police Court this morning. He was fined £7. Aecused pleaded guilty to the charge. and Senior-Sergeant G. Sivyer detailed his arrest at Havelock North on Christmas Eve. Aecused had been most frank about the matter, he said. The Benek deiiveied a homily on the dfuger to other road users of such -ionduct.
