Finance Minister Could Meet Local Bodies in January In answer to his correspondence with the Minister -of Finance, the Hon. W. Nash, supplomented by a letter from Mr E. L. Cullen, M.P., the Hon. W. L. Barnard, M.P., has now been informed that it will not be convenient for the Minister to visit this district and rneeu local bodies at the latter end of February, the time suggested by them to discuss the earthqualce loan. However, he anticipates being able to arrange a visit during tlie last week in January. The actual date will have to be fixed later. Mr Barnard said he would be glad if the local bodies concerned would note the Minister's reply and endeavour to make their arrangements accordingly.
