PALMERSTON N., Last Night. The Manawatu Racing Club's summer ineeting was opened at Awapuni yesterday, the weather being brilliantly fine and, at times, uncomfortably warm. Tbere must have been a record attendance and car-parldng space was at a premium well before the first race. The totalisator handled £45,348 during the day, as compared with £38,143 10/last Boxing Dav, the increase being £7204 10/-.
