AUCKLAND, Last Night., Two men were killed and nearly 20 persons injured, several seriously iii koliday motoring accidents in AucldanG on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Early in' the morning of Christmas Day a motor drive through Mission Bay liad a tragic ending when a car cou tainirig five young men became out of control just in front of a cabaret. Aftoi swerving across the road, it jumped a eulvert, on to the footpath and finally crashed broadside-on with violent impact into a telegraph post. The driver was thrown into the eulvert with extensive injuries from which he died at the Auckland Hospital 12 hours lat er. His - companion in the front seat was also admitted to hospital, "while the remaining three passengers suffered minor injuries. The driver was: Andrew Miller Donnachie, aged 26, single, a motor-service driver, of New Lynn. Kenneth Lloyd Williams, aged 24, single, a motor-service driver, of Clevedon reeeived severe head injuries and concussion. His condition is serious. A fatal accident occurred early on Christmas Day morning when D. B. Ready, a retired railway servant, was knocked down on the main road at Papakura by car. The injured man died almost immediately.
