Car and Lorry Coilide at Methven SIX INJURED

CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. One person was killed and six injured in a serious collision a few miles from Methven on Friday afternoon wlien a Power Board truck struck. a motor-car at ari obscured interseetion. The occupaVts of the vehicles were:— Kill'ed. Pattrick Lane Clinton, aged 31, farmer of Barrhill, fractured skull and multiple injuries. Injured. James Clinton, aged 68, broken pelvis and severe lacerations condition Herious.

Rose Clinton, aged 71, fractured back and concussion, condition serious. Poggy Webb, aged 17, a servant at Clinton 's farm whose parents reside at Temuka, severely fractured skull, condition serious. Herbert Christie, electrician 's apprentice, scalp wounds, condition satisfactory. George Chapman. electrician, driver of the truck, scalp wounds, discharged from hospital after treatment. Mrs Chapman was a passenger in the truck but escaped with abrasions and severe shock. Pattrick Clinton, who was driving his parents and the girl to town for Christmas Eve, died soon after. admission to the hospital. The car was turned over several times and stopped upside down.
