CARS IN COLLISION ON WESTSHORE BRIDGE
When his lights failed on the Westshore bridge while he was on his way home to Kaiwaka from Napier on Christmas Eve, Mr G. H. McAulay pulled over as far to^ the left as possibli and got out to investigate. Mr Alec Lavery, a mechanie from Westshore, was passing and pulled up in front of Mr McAulay 's car to see if he could help, leaving his own lamps turned on. As he worked there, a third car, being driven from Napier by Mr F. IS. Pickering eollided with the rear of the first car, knocking it forward against Mr Lavery, who suffered, minor cuts and bruises about the face and hands. Neither car was seriously damaged though both showed evidence of the impact.
