LYRIC KINDERGARTEN CHILDREN ENTERTAINED

The children of the Lyric Kindergarten and their cnothers were entertained at a Christmas party by the teacher", Miss Upton. Songs, recitations, and a children 's play, "Old King Cole's Band," were items greatly enjoyed. The children, although only tiny tots, showed remarkable ability. A Christmas tree laden with Christmas stocltings, greatly delighted the small folk, each receiving a stocking as a present. Ice-cream, sweets, and soft drinks for the children, and afternoon-tea for the motliers, was appreciated by all. The programme was as follows: — Chorus, "Christmas Bells," the class; recitation, Patricia Amner; song, Ivan Sclimoll; recitation, Rosie Bell; song, Brian McCutehen; song, Ngaire Eastwood; recitation, Diane Probert. "King Cole's Band"— King Cole, Pat Amner; Boy Blue, Ngaire Eastwood; Cat and Fiddle, Brian McCutcheon; Third Fiddle, Rosie Bell; Tom the Piper's Son, Ivan Schmoll; Mary Mary, Diane Probert; Tom Thumb, Wendy Fowler; Extra Fiddlers, Margaret Wilson, Celeste Wall. Graham Sankey, Pamela Jones and Moira Dew wero u» avoidably absent.
