THE MARDI GRAS
The Napier Mardi Gras conimenees to-night, when all sideshows and games on the Ma'rine Parade will be in full scving. On Monday, at 1.30 p-111-, the clay pigeon-shooting will talce place at tlie Monte Carlo shooting-grounds for two £25 prizes. At 2 p.m. yacht. races will be held oll the Mariue Parade. At 3 o'clock tho batliing-beauty contesi will talce place. At 3.45 p.m. balloonhunting competitions will be held for 1lie children. At 8 o'clock the final of t,lm bathing-beauty contest will be held and there will be dances by Hawke 's Bay's champion dancer, Miss Peggy Blnclc, and plano-aecordeon items Dy Mr Ceeil Neal. The programme for days following will be seen in the advertisement columns. Entries for the bathingbeauties contest can be made with the sccretary who will be in attendance at tho Sound Rhell on Boxing morning.
