AUCKLAND, Tbis Day. "I think it absolutely vital for you people to taka up immigration again. I am more impressed than ever witb tlie stupidity of keeping good migrants out," said Sir Tbomas Henderson, an eminent Scottish industrialist, wbo arrived witb Lady Henderson by tbe Mariposa to-day. Sir Tboma3, wbo is connected witb large knitting-mills at Hawick, Scotland, said tbat although bis visit was mainly for boliday purposes, be wals anxious to learn about presant-day immigration movements in New Zealand and Australia. He realised tbat tbe Dominions would be on guard against opening tbe way to poor types of immigrants. but, witb the world as it was to-day, people in Britain were anxious that Australia and New Zealand sbould be safe and strong. More good stock would make them stronger. He believed tbat a good proportion of tbe young men txained iu recent years by British farmers would be willing to come to New Zealand and Australia, if satisfactory arrangements were made.
