In tbe House of Commons, Mr Fletcher, drawing attention to "Italian anti-British propaganda" said tbat Signor Mussolini bad become tbe poison pen of Europe, "and poisoms tbe wbole world international relations." Tbe use of tbe Press for recent untrutbful attacks amouuted to blackmail, he said. No bead of State actuated by ordinary motives of bonour and decency would tolerate sucb conduet. It was tbe bead of tbe Italian Government himself wbo wrote tbose lies in. tbe Press, although. he was bound by agreement not to do so. Viscount Cranborne, Under-Seeretary for Foreign Affairs, replied that previous representations to Italy to a eertain extent were effeetive.
