Dispatch of British Ships to the East TOKIO PRESS COMMENT

Tbe Times Tokio correspondent, commenting on reports tbat British warships migbt be sent to tbe Far East, says that three newspapers advise England not to forget ber unhappy experienees in tbe Abyssinian war, wben tbe dispatch of warsbips to tbe Mediterranean ended in a failure. Tbe Hoehi asks: "Is Britain going to revive tlie imperialistie policy in wbicb European Powers eould indulge in tbe nineteenth century? Tbese metbods are inapplicable to-day to Japan, wbicb is one of tbe strongest Powers in tbe world." The Yomiuri considers tbat tbe dispatch of naval reinforccments would encourage tbe Chinese to expect support, tbereby aggravating tbe position. Tbe Kokumin says tbat Japau does not feel at all menaced.
