PNEUMATIC TENT
"Camper's Dream" Attracts Intercst Tent-pitching- without poles, and no getting tangled np with ropes or struggling in a maze of flapping and unwilling canvas is aehieved by one camper at present in Napier. He merely pegts down his tent's four corners, prodnces a small pnmp, and proceeds to foree air into a valve at one of the corners. Magiealiy the tent rises from the ground and stands firmly. supported by four rubber tubes, shaped like the ribs of an umbrella, Then it is that thp beholder sees the camper 's dreajn unfolded before his eyes, for this is the perfeef tent. There a?e two doors, heavily mos* quito-netted, windows that open and shut with draw-strings from the inside, and a weatherproof ventilator at the top. Propqrly inflated and guyed the tent cannot sway in the wind, and its owner assured a reporter that he had not had a puneture yet. He seemed to think sueh an idea ludicrous. but did say he was wafting for someone to try leaning on a "pole." He looks forward to witnessing the unwary leanor 's surprise. This ingenious little shelter, its owner believes, is the only one of its kind in New Zealand, and was procured by hira in England. It will accommodate two ordinary camp stretchers and is equipped with all sorts of things one does not see in aq ordinary tent, even down to raeka for tooth-brushes. The wbole tent weighs only a few. pounds and will pack into a small spaee.
