WAIPAWA REGENT
"BULLETS OR BALLETS" TO-NIGHT. The Christmas Eve feature at the Waipawa Regent to-night is the thrilling drama "Bullets or Ballots," with a line supporting programme. "GORGEOUS HUSSY" MONDAY. With brilliant acting performances from such sereen headliners as Joan Crawford, Robert Taylor, Lionel Barrymoret Franehot Tone, Melvyn Douglas and "james Stewart, ' ' The Gorgeous Hussy" shows at Waipawa on Monday as one of the linest . pietures to come from the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios. Perhaps the most notable highlight oi the picture is the teami,ng of Miss Crawford with the sensational Robert Taylor, the most talked about film diswery since the first appearance of Clark Gable. The romantic pair offers a new high in love teams and their acting together gives the story its most poignant and unforgettable moments. Also outstanding, is the characterisation of Lionel Barrymore as Andrew Jackson, seventh President of the United States. In an almost uncannily lifelike makeup Barrymore g'ives a portrayal of the fiery and much maligned Jackson that must be listed as the greatest of his career.
