Napier Bathing Belle Contest The star attraction in conneetion with this year's Napier Mardi Gras will be the bathing beauty parade, which is to take place on Boxing Day at 3 p.m. and the final at 8 p.m. Any young lady may enter and the conditions are perfectly straightforward. Competitorsmust wear bathing costume and- high heeled shoes, no bead covering or wrap. There will be three in&opendent judges, whose decision will be absolutely final. One hundrea porinds in prize money will be given away, the first prize, Miss New Zealand, being £50, seeond £20, third £10, fourth £5, and six other cash prizes of £2 10/- each. The entry fee is 5/-.. ' Entries have already been received from Palmerston' North, Wellington, Gisborne and Napier, and would-be competitors are asked' to nominate early. On Boxing Day at three o'elock the preliminary will be lield and 10 i competitors will be selected to appear in the final at 8 p.m. Miss Jean Withihgton, fasliiou oxpeft of Messrs Shillings Ltd., Wellington, who has recently returued from London and the Continent, will be one of the judges. . . Messds Shillings Ltd. are giving the winner one of the latest American swim suits, Gamages Ilat Sliop has offered her the choice of a hat, and Messrs T. Parker and Co., Ltd. have presented a pair of silk stoekings. In addition to tlie cash and special prizes, Messrs Styles aiul Styles are presenting a valuable trophy f-or the bathing beauty with the most beautiful eyes.
