IVORY SATIN GOWN WORN BY WAIROA BRIDE

PARKINSON — COUPER Of interest to a large circle of friends was the wedding celebrated ua Tuesday evening of Esther Mavis, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs Peter Couper, North Clyde, Wairoa, and Ben« jamin Edinund Parkinson, fifth son of Mrs Parkinson, of Tauranga, and the late Mr E. Parkinson. The ceremony was performed in the Anglican Church the officiating clergyman being the Rev. C. E. Hyde. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a beautiful ivory satin gown, with a coronet of orange blossoms to which was fastened the bridal veil of silk net embroidered in silk. A bouquet of sweet peas, carnations and asparagus was carried. Mrs Jean Knight, sister of the bride, was matron of honour. She wore a pink taffeta gown with lemon flowerfc forming shoulder straps, with a lemonflowered halo as head dress. Miss Nancy Couper, cousin of the bride, wore a lemon gown, cut on the same lines as that worn by the matron of honour, with a pink head dress. Both carried bouquets to tone. The bridegroom was attended by hie brother, Mr R. Parkinson, Australia, as best man, and Mr A. Russell was the groomsman, After the ceremony a reception was held in St. Paul's Parish Hall, Mre P. Couper and Mrs Parkinson receiving the guests. The former wore a navy blue ensemble, with hat to tone, and the latter also wore navy ensemble with hat to tone. Each carried a bouquet^ After the toasts had been given, the evening was spent in dancing. Miss T. West rendered two songs and the Misses Wilkins gave the Irish Reel andHighland Fling. The newly-married couple left latei) on a motor tour, the bride's travelling outfit being a grey costume relieved with black and white accessories.
