CHRISTMAS PARTY
Karamu Settlement Sunday School The presentation of prizes at the Karamu Settlement Sunday School took place last week in the form of a Christma? tree pariy, the Eev. E. B. Gpsnell presiding Qver a big gathering Of children and friends. A splendid progranwie had been propared by Mrs. Diok, the following itemg being rendered:-r-"God Defend New Zealand; recitation, Paddy Battray; recitation, hlaire Cambridge and Ngaere Uick, play with.Qut WQrds, Betty Myers, Jean Butherford, Norma Pickj recitation, Winnie Allison; recitation, Len Battray; song, "Won't You Buy My Pretty Flowers?" junior gjrla; recitation, Douglas White; song, Gordon Gillespie; recitation, Don Eutherford; duet, Betty Myers and Ngaere Dick; recitation, Derek White; farewell song, Eileen, and Edna Allison, with ulceleje accompanimen'ts by Norma Dick, Brucp and Cedric Gillespie; carol. In addition to these items, several pieces were rendered by Valerie McCombs and a vocal duet by Mrs. Gosnell and Ian Gosnell. At Hina q 'elpeh, tg the accompaniment Of mueh noiie, "Mother'' Ohristmas arrived with a beautiful Ohristmas tree on a sledge, and, in addition to their prizes, all the scholars received a gift from the tree, At the plose of the party, u presentation was made to Mrs. D. Battray by tho scholars, and in handing over tho gift, the Bey, Mr« Gosnell expressed the thanks of the Sunday School and of the parents for the use of the home for Sunday school and chureh work in the distriet, Mr. D, Battray guitablv' respoadii.g.
