Van Zeeland Receives Little Encouragement in Rome (Eeceived 2*2, 8.45 a.m.) LONDON, Dee. 21. It is announced at Whitehall that M. Van Zeeland, Belgian statesman, who has been visiting Eome in an endeavour to arrange a conference on economic reeonstructlon between the major European Powers and the United States, has made such progress with his report that the British and Fre'nch Governments expect to receive it be ford Christmas. A Eome message, however, says that M. van Zeeland has left for Brussels. He did not see Signor Mussolini, and it is believed he found little encouragement in official circles for his proposed international economic conference.
