EXTRA NOTE ISSUE FOR BRITISH CHRISTMAS TRADE
(Received 21, S.45 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 20. The Times says the Bank of England has issued £25,000,000 worth of extra notes to meet the enormous demand of Chiistmas trade. As each will circulate through several hands, it is reasonable to suggest £100,000,000 is likely to be spent on the festivities. The Royal Mint lias issued 4,000.000 George VI. threepences and 15,000,0ofl new sixpences.
