Ceremony at Te Uri

ORMONDVILLE, Last Night. The annual brealc-up and prize-giving ceremony at the Te Uri School was attended by a large gathering of parents and friends of the children. A huge Christmas trce was an attraction, being well laden with. gifts. A short programme of items by the children was much enjoyed. Mr Gliff Wilson, chairman of the school committee, presented prizes to the following children. Standard VI.rErnest Baines, who also obtained his primary school certifieate, now given in place of prcficiency; Standard V..: Kathleen Ward, Mildred Nielson; Standard IV.: Cyril Johnston; StandaTd III.: Valmai Pedersen, Noel Baines; Standard L: Margaret Ward, Joseph Wrrd; Primer IV.: Jan Pedersen, Keith Ritehie, Robert Ward. Ernest Baines, on behalf of the school presented the head teacher, Mrs Young, with. a beautiful photo album. Mrs Young thanked the children for their gift. An appetising home-made supper was provided and dispensed by the parents.
