Four Young Men Fined

Miller, S.M., tvith being iound ou licens^d premises aiter hours. The defeiidants Avere ; Charles Thomsen, jun., John Thomsen, Leonard Grierson and Dudiey Rosser, all of Ashley Clinton. None oi them appeared. A fine of £1 was imposed in each case, Avith I2i/- costs against Charles Thomsen and 10/- costs against eacti of the other three deiendants. Grierson A\as ordered to pay 2/6 Avitness's expenses. Constable P. Mullan, of Takapau, said that 011 November 5 at about 9.30 p.m. he followed the four mon into the hotei. lie met tliein in the pftssage and Avhen asked wliy they had gone in they ad mitted quite frankly that tliey Avanted drinks. Tliey were not drinkers generally, he said, and tliey wore all under 24 years of age.
