At the lar !; meeting of the year of the Kaiwaka branch of the Women's Institute Mrs White presided. Business was dealt with, after which Mrs Howard gave an interesting demonstration on the making of rope matrS. Members brought articles for a sale table, the proceeds going towards the endowment fund. Competiti s for the day rcsulted: — A Christmas present, Miss McKinnon 1, Miss Bain and Miss Fraser, equal, 2, Mrs Sigvertsen 3. Sweetpeas, Mrs Howard 1, Mrs Bain 2. Hastesses' competition, Mrs White. Afternoon tea was served by Mrs McKinnon and Miss McKinnon.
