"Learn-to-Swim Week" eoncluded at the Maddison Baths last evening, when the final sessions were eoncluded by uie Heretaunga Swiinming and Life-Saving Club. "There is not the slightest doubt about the advisability of having tlieso campaigns, ' ' said an officia] this niorning, when counnenting upon the success of the week. "We had about 130 pupils, and certainly more than half of thein can now swira quite well." The major diffieulty experienced by the instruc.tors was that the pupils failed to put in regular appearances tlirougliout the week, ancl many of the pupils did not start until thc second or even Ihe third night. ""We are quilo satisfied. however, with the success that has been attained," he added, "but there is need for further encouragement and coaching among the non-swimming community."
