ATTEMPT ON EVEREST

English Expedition Chosen (Received 17, 12.10 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 16. In addition to Mr H. W. Tilman, Mr F. S. Smythe, Mr Eric Shipton, Dr. Warden and Lieutenant Oliver, all of whom accompanied Mr Ruttledge last year, also Captain N. Odell, wbo participated in 1924, and Mr Peter Lloyd have been selected to complete tbe 1938 Everest party. Mr H- W. Tilman was a member of tbe 1935 reconnaissance party but did not participate in tbe main Everest expedition. Last year he led a party to tbe summit of Nanda Devi, 25,645 feet. It is recalled tbat Mr Ruttledge in 1935 said tbat be would not again attempt Everest.
