Council'B Contribution. A donation of £1 to the funds of the Health Stamp Gampaign was made by the Waipukurau Borough Council at its meeting last nignt. The Far East Relief Fund repeated its request for a donation, but the council adhered to its earlier decision not to make any move in the matter. Kifle Shooting. On the Monnt Vernon Bange on Saturday afternoon the members of the Waipukurau Defenee Rifle Club will iire offi for the final round of the the Croolc's Silver Cup — two 7-shots at 900 yards. The handicaps are as follows: — Dop-Pres. W. G, Bryce, E. T, Haldane, N. Taylor, and F. N, McVicar, ser.-scr.; F. Tinney, L: J. Taylor and J. A. ChamberB, Ll; C. L. Monckton, F. Fryer and C. Woodward, 2-2; F, R. Wilson, S. Annand and J. White, 3-3; A. Fryer, J. Vazey, and L. Renner, 4-4; R. Ashby, W. Bird and W. Oliver, 5-5; P. Mason and J. Coombes, 6-6. Croquet Matches. On Wednesday members of the Waipakura Croquet Club were engaged in A grade games with representatives of the United Club (Napier). On the home green the local players (Mesdames Bendeich and Reeldu and Bryce and J. Butler) were vietorious the result being Waipukurau 84, United 79. In the games played at Napier however, the Waipukurau players (Mrs Given and Miss Main, and Mrs Brassel and Mr J. Hindmar were defeated, the scores being United 90, Waipukurau 65. Wednesday's play was tlie last in the eoinpetition till after the holidaya.
