Mr. Husheer Gives £50 To Waipawa Hospital Board

WAIPUKURAU, Last Night. Christmas donations totalling over £90 were acknowledged by the Waipawa Hospital Board at its meeting yesterday. "This Christmas appeal meets with a satisfactory result from year to year," remarked the chairman, Mr. W. H. Rathbone. "Mr. G. Husheer, «f JNapier, has sent us every year for ten years a liberal donatfon of £50." Mrs. JLovvry was another generous contributor. The Red Cross Society had done great service to t.he patients at tho Sanatorium right through the year. They had many amenities — their picture theatre, bowls and indoor bowls — all of which had been provided by the goodwill of the people of the district, and of otker' districts, too. A number of donations in the -Christmas list, also were from outside donors. Mr. N. Gr. Hawthorne also paid a tribute to Mrs. Lowry's generosity. Special votes of thanks were passed to Mr. Husheer and Mrs. Lowry and all otlier donors were heartily thanked by the board. In addition to the donations mentioned in the list below, toys for the children's ward were received from Mr. W. Matthews, and another donor gave £3 towards Christmas comforts for the nurses. Mrs. T. H.. Lowry has sent £20 to provide benefits for patients at Pukeora Sanatorium and also £10 to purchase chairs for the patients' lounge. Another £10 for the same purpose has been promised by the headquarters of the Red Cross Society. The donations received were as follow; Mr. G.
