Otane Institute Entertains Children

OTANE, Last Night. A very jolly time was spent in the Town Hall on Tuesday afternoon, when the Women's Institute entertained the members' children and those of St. Hilda's Home at the annual Christmas party. The hall looked very attractive with its bright decorations, and the seene was a gay and happy oue when the vaiious games were in progress. A number of items were given by the children as follows: — Pionaforte trio, Nellie Germain, Hilda Tod and Joan Arnott; Irish jig, Beryl Scrimgeour and Barbara Harbottle; reeitations, IsabelMacDougall and N. Robertson; songs, Freda Page, Gordon Collins and Noleen Page; pianoforte solo, Janet Douglas; dauce, Daphne Colquhoun, F. Pilcher and B. Scrimgeour; part songs, St. Hilda's children; guitar dutes, Jean and Forb6s Minto. A sumptuous afternoon tea was enjoyed by the children, and before leaving the hall each child received a trumpet and a bag of sweets. Beautiful floral bouquets were presented to the president, Mrs R. H. Tod, and the secretary, Mrs A. B. Collins. During the afternoon the certificates won by members of the Red Cross class were presented by Miss Waller, in the absence of Dr. Norris. The singing of the National Antheni brought a very happy afternoon to a close.
