The December meeting of the Maraekakaho Women's Institute ivas lield in the hall, Mrs J. Graham presiding. '"Mrs Graham welcomed Miss McLeod and lier friends from Ilivelock North, who gave a most delightful concert, including piano items, songs, violin solos and dancing. Mr W. lieartily thanked on behalf of the members. The Maraekakaho and Mangatahi school children were invited for the afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The competition results were as follows: — Best bloom, Mrs Simmous; best boAvl, Mrs Siinmons 1, Mrs Foreman 2; vase of sweetpeas, Mrs McConachie 1, Mrs Jaines 2; 3-andmade soft toy, Mrs Farmery; best decoratcd tin of sweets for children over 10/ Sliella Joll 1, Jinrmy Talbot 2; under 10, John Foreman 1, Janet Walker 2. The collection of sweets and toys was sent to the district nurse for distribution at Christmas.
