DANCE AT RISSINGTON FOR MISS EVA HOWELL

A very enjoyable evening was spent in the Rissington Hall, when the guest of honour was Miss Eva Howell, who is shortly to be married. The hall had been gaily decorated by residents for the occasion. In spite of the heavy rain the residents turned out in full for.ce from far and near, there being well over 100 persons present. The evening was occupied with games, competitions and dancing. The music for the latter was supplied by the Stephenson Brothers, of Napier. Little Adele Hughes delighted those present with an exhibition of skipping and tap dancing, and was warmly a.pplauded. Mr W. Woodward, in a happy speech, referred to Miss Howell's great popularity in tlie district, and of her willingness to help on all oceasions. After a sumptuous supper, provided by the ladies, Miss Howell was asked to open the numerous parcels. In this task she was helped by her future husband, Mr J. Galloway, of Norsewood, and her bridesmaid, Miss M. Cooper. Many beautiful and useful gifts were received. Mr Galloway, on behalf of Miss Howell, thanked one and all for their gifts. Mr E. J. Howell, father of the bride-to-be, thanked all present for giving his daughter such a delightful evening. Dancing continued till midnight, and the singing of "Auld Lang Syne" brought to a close a very enjoyalle evening.
