Meeting of Waipukurau Branch

WAIPUKURAU^ Last Night. The nsual monthly meeting of the Waipukurau branch of the Plunket Society was held this afternoon, Mrs. J. D. Ormond presiding over Mesdames H. S. Hooper, J. Brathwaite, B. J. Boys, I. W. N. Maekie, E. Broad, M. Joblin, J. H. Walker, L. S. F. Bell, L. A. Harker, T. Hobson, F. R. McWilliam, and the secretary, Miss E. A. Hobson. Plunket Nurse Ellis submitted the following report for the month of November: — Visits to Rooms: — Waipukurau: Adults 138, babies 109, children 33; total 280. Takapau: Adults 35, babies 31, children 7 ; total 73. Porangahau: Adults 12, babies 8, children 4; total 24. Visits to homes: Waipukurau 30, Takapau 5, Porangahau 10. New cases: Waipukurau 1, Takapau 1, Porangahau 2. Cases under care: Waipukurau 200, Takapau 62, Porangahau 24. Accounts amounting to 16/7 were passed for payment. Mrs. W. McKenzie's donation of £15, the proceeds from her recent dance recital, was received with grateful thanks. A letter of appreciation is to be sent to Mrs. McKenzie. It was decided to hold the annual Plunket carnival early in March. Final arrangements are to be made at the February meeting. Mrs. Boys ofirered to take the Plunket Nurse to Porangahau on her next visit, and a vote of thanks was accorded Mesdames Mackie and J. W. Walker for taking the nurse on her two previous visits. Arrangements for the nurse 's Christmas leave were left in the hands of the president and secretary. Mrs. Boys was appointed visitor to the rooms for the ensuing month, and Mrs. L. Harker for January. A donation was received from Mrs. A. S. Wilder with thanks.
