WAIPAWA, Last Night. The followmg matters arising out of the engineer 's report were dealt with at the monthly meeting of the Waipawa County Couneil:-— Makarora road is to be inspected and a repcfirt submitted. Lookout and Hinerua roads are to be metalled when co'nvenient, and the footpRths in Ongaonga township are to be cleaned up. The culvert near Jensen's, in the Clinton riding, is to be piped if necessary. Weeds in Main street, Takapau, are to be removed. When finished at Tikokino the crusher is to be removed to Fairfield. / The Automobile Association is to be asked to put up a danger sign at Cunningham's, on the Waipukurau-Mata-mau highway. Mr Glenny drew attention to the growth of Star Thistle on the State highway, and the attention of the District Engineer iis to be drawn to this. Work is to be carried out on county houses in terms of the report submitted by; the engineer; tenders to be called. The usual holidays are to he granted at ohristmas. The chairman extended Christmas greetings to the couneil and staff.
