H.B. APIARISTS HOLD FIELD DAY
Though marrcd to some extent by a rather lowering and cloudy slcy, those beekeepers who attended tlie field day at Mr Areh Lowe's "Sunnybank" apiary spent a pleasant and profitable afternoon. Seasonable demonstrations were given by the president, Mr ,T. N. Walker, "Building-up wealc colonies for the honey flow", and Mr L. Reisterer, Apiary Instructor, ' Malcing nuclei for increase, and for queen raising." In the unavoidable ahsence of Mr Irwin, of Tikokino, Mr Reisterer described the main points of procedure for raising seetion honcj'. Mr II. Shepherd demonstrated his method of supering for the honey flow. Mrs Lowe a d her daughters dispensed a mueh apprcciated afternoon tea. Mr Lowe set forth the advantages to be gained by beekeepers linking up with the association, so that all might work togefher for the common good. The next field day is set doivn for February 5, at Mr Donkin'3 apiary, Havelock North.
