Deaths of Leander Ratings

AUCKLAND, Last Night. There is a possibility that the inquest concluded on board the Leander on Thursday last concerning the deaths of three seamen from the cruiser who were drojvned off Karaka Bay when a galley capsized during a race will be re-opened in view of a step taken by the coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in making an addition to his finding. This addifion is being forwarded to the Under-Secretary of Justice, to whom the vyhole file of the proceedings is sent. The addition reads as foilows; "Since this inquiry closed, the liarbourmaster at Auckland has publicly stated that he notified the Achilles of this accident about an our earlier than the time stated by Lieutenant-Commander Lloyd in his evidence before me. I think this should be inquired into, and if the liarbourmaster is correct, an explanation is required for the reason why a boat was not sent earlier to the scene of the accident."
