COUNTY HOLDING-PADDOCKS

The state of disrepair of many of the stock holding-paddocks was considered by members of the Hawke's Bay County Council yesterday to be largely due to users not notifying the council of damage done. It was decided that drovers should be asked to advise the council of any damage caused by the stoek under their charge, in order that repairs could be effeeted without delay. The council's staff eould not be held responsible for the damaged condirion of yards when no opportunity had been given them to carry out repairs.
