WAIPUKURAU, Last Night. A two-hour programme of vocal and pianoforte items by pupils of Miss D. Swain, L.R.S.M., and Mrs. L. Swain, R.M.T., was presented on Friday night in St. Mary's Hall, Waipukurau. The stage was decorated with spring fiowers, and at the conclusion of the programme a number of bouquets were presented to Mrs. and Miss Swain. The programme was as follows: "Little Blossoms" Gurlett), ,Veleea Hill; "Jolly Little Breeze," Noleen Hunter; "Drifting, " Beverley Salter; "The Bell," Valerie Coughlan; "The Clock," Betty Ward; "Rose in My Garden," Ngaire Hiir) "Golden Ferns," Alison Hunter; "Wood Nymphs," Irene" Lee. Vocal duo, Freneh-Canadian song, Binny Raymond and Gipsy Browne; "Schonbreenn Gardens," Shirley Coughlan; "Country .Dance," Maxina Iiimpus; simple song, Nita Bennett; "Farewell," Margaret Lee; '^Bears ' Dance," James Thorburn; song in French, Binny Raymond; "To the Rising Sun," Margaret Dowrick; "Pastoral Dance," Peggy Walker; "Twilight on the River," and "Wind in the Trees, " Binny Raymond; "Papillons," Gipsy Browne; two songs, "Shepherd's Song" and "There Sits a Bird," Joy Clark; "Narcissus." Nancy Green; "Study in E b," and "Schubert's Cradle Song," Doreen Williams; "Waltz in A b," Joy Keen; "Canzone Amore," Aisla Warren; "Leider" (Mendelssohn) and "Prelude No. 10" (Chopin), Bilson Mason; "Andante Semplice" (McEwan) and "Slumber Song" (Roger Quilter), Alastair Jones; "Sonatina" (Clementi), Fay Ward; "Impromptu in A b" (Schubert), Joy Clark; "Dance Creote" (Chaminade), "Allemande" (Green) and "Biddy," Lynn Edwards; songs, "Jennesse" and "Ma Curly-Headed Babby," Joy Clark; Rondo op. 14, No. 1 (Beethoven), "Waltz Triste" (Sibelins), "Allegro" (Handel) and "April Showers," Nola Mathieson.
