WOMAN KILLED

Fatal Collision Near Wanganui (By Telegraph — Press Association.) WANGANUI, Last Night. Oue woman was killed and another seriously injured when two cars collided on a bend on the Utiku-Mangaweka road shortly before five o'clock on Saturday evening. The woman who received fatal injuries was Mrs. Eose Ella Liddicoat, aged 35 years, wife of Mr. C, P. Liddicoat, of Mangaweka, and the other was Mrs. Eileen Henderson, aged 38 years, wife of Mr. Richard C. Henderson, of Mangaweka. Mr. Liddicoat and Mr. Henderson are employed by the Public Works Department at Mangaweka. The accident occurred about a mile and a-half south of Utiku, and the cars met head-on. Mr. Henderson 's car went over the bank, fell 45 feet and crashed through a fence and into a paddock. The other car, driven by Mr. W. F. Pope, of Raurijnu, did not leave tho road. Mrs. Liddicoat died from severe head injuries before the arrival of the ambulanee, and Mrs. Hepderson, who also received head injuries, was taken to the Taihape hogpi'il jn a pemiconseious state, and her condition is regarded as very serious.
