His Grace, Archbishop O'Shea, of Wellington, who performed the ordination ceremony at Mount St. Mary's, Greenmeadows, yesterday, was the guest at St. Mary's Presbytery, Meeanee, during his visit to Hawke's Bay. Mr J. Mcllwaine, of Wellington, district superintendent of the Live Stock Division of the Department of Agriculture, is on a visit to Hastings and Hawke's Bay. Mr Claud xanner, of Wellington, who with Mr Leon de Maunay and Madame de Maunay, will give the programme at the B.M.S. concert this evening, arrived in Hastings yesterday and is the guest of his aunt, Mrs W. B. Nicoll, York street, Hastings. Mr Justice Blair, who during a period in England attended the Goronation celebrations, is returninr- to New Zea land by the New Zealand Star which left Liverpool on November 21 for Australia and New Zealand. The ship is due on the New Zealand coast on January 11. Dr. J. McMurray Cole, of Royal Oak, with his wife, Dr. Elizabeth Cole, aud their three children, sailed for England by the Waipawa on Saturday. Dr. McMurray Cole, who expects to be away for about nine months, Will do post-graduate work in England ano Europe. Mr H. R. Wiiliams, who has been in eharge of the Gisborne office of Dalgety and Co., Ltd.,, for the past ijve years has been advised of his transfer to the position of manager of the Invercargill branch. He will be succeeded by Mr K. B. Garland, at present auetioneer at Palmerston North. The change will take effect from January 10. The Very Rev. J. B. Brocklehurst, Dean of Waiapu, has been appointed by the Primate, Archbishop Averill, to be his commissary during the continuance of the vacancy in the diocese causod by the death of Bishop H. W. Wiiliams. Dean Brocklehurst will manage the affairs of the Diocese of Waiapu pending the appointment of a successor to Bishop Wiiliams. Wing-Commander A. H. Cobby, controller of meteorological operatibns for the Australian Civil Aviation Board, Mr Entwistle, head of the overseas a\vision of the London meteorological office, Mr W. S. Watt, Commonwealth meteorologist, and Mr E. W. TimcKe, senior meteorologist at Meioourne, sail ed for Sydney on Saturdoy by the Wanganella. They visited the Dominion !u order to be present at the meteorological conference in Wellington.
