Many Spectacular Escapes LEAPS FROM UPPER STOREYS " (Eeceived 11, 8.45 a.m.) NEW YOEK, Dec. 9. A message from Knoxville (Tennosseo) states that two women and seven children were burned to death in a fire in a three-storey apartment house. Nineteen eseaped, many spectacularly. One inan leapt from a second floor window, clutching his five-months son in his arms. He was uninjured, but his wife and three other children were burned to death. Another man, holding two children, jumped from the third floor and light,ed on the second floor. He tossed the children to a spectator^ who caught them safely. Thereafter he and his wife jumped, escaping wilth minor burns and shock.
