Labour Rule Dangers

Sir, — Please allow me small space in your columns to answer " Disgusted 's ' ' venomous epistle in yesterday's issue of your paper under the heading of "Dangers of Labour Rule." It i.s quite easily guessed from which quarter this cheap vapouring and " corrosive propa* ganda einanates, and also that its main ohject is to belittle our present good GoVerniiient and its housibg scheme. He refers to a coupie of sections and sub-sections of the Housing Act and glibly tries to misconstrue the real meaning of them. Then he hops off to an imaginary case before a judge and jury and what might come to pass if Labour is left in poweb long enough. I would advise ' ' Disgusted ' ' to pr epare, tighten his girdle-strap. and buckle on his Coat of mail, summon all his confederates aroUnd him and dish but VolUmes of this prOpaganda, for there is*to be an electicn in 12 ihonths, and I pfedict this good Labaur Govefnment Which has rescued Gbd's Own Country from the abyss and achieved so much Since comihg into pOWfer, "Will be returned again with a biggef majofity than ever. And why not? It is a government of the people, for the people, and with the people. "Disgusted" alSo fefefs tO the Labour Government as & hybrid of Conservative'Labour. Well) I never. With a dash Of Moscow thrown in. It's really funny, In conclusion, may I express an Opinion that from the tono and the nasty odour of " Disgusted 's " letter he might be a hybrid of the late lamented New Zealand Welfare Leagne, which died a nattural death and Was buried a little over two years ago. Thanking you, Mr Editor.— Yours, etc. "DISGUSTED AT DISGUSTED." Hastings, Dec. 10, 1937. [Letters to the Editor shouid deal with definite issues or policies. This column cannot remain open for the publication of abuMve generalisationS concerniiig either persona or parties. The two "Disgusteds" cannot conduct a private fight here and indulge in purposeless slanging and wisli-predic-tions of the result of the next electioa. —Editor.] (Other letters to the editor are held over for publication on Monday).
